The Last Lecture - Randy Pausch

I read this book some months ago and it belongs now to my favourite ones. Randy Pausch wrote it for his kids as he knew that he only has some months to live before the cancer would take him far away from his wife and his kids. This is the story of his Last Lecture...

What does The Last Lecture mean? This is a talk made by professors about THE question which each of us already had: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?

Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture but the one he gave was completely different. The lecture he gave--"Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams"--wasn't about dying but about living, about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because "time is all you have...and you may find one day that you have less than you think"). Through his thoughts and reflections about his life Randy shows us what is really important. What I particularly loved in this book is that this is not a traditional guide book full of worldly wisdoms. This is the story of a man who loves his life till the end...
